Sharing His Beauty Blog Link Up

As you know, we just moved this past week into a new place in our "old" town.  We are so excited to be home!  God showed us His beauty almost everywhere we looked.  From the scenic vineyards surrounding our town to the view of Hood Mountain right out our back door, His creation was singing out His glory every day. We also enjoyed the beauty He provided through community by allowing us to reconnect in our church and with friends whom have been missed greatly.  As for the boxes I mentioned last week?  They're almost gone!  Though it has been exhausting unpacking, it has been so enjoyable.  We feel so thankful for all God has done and is doing in our life!

Can't Steal My Joy

Years ago, when the children of a good friend of mine were very small, they would say a phrase to each other that has stuck with me throughout the years. When one of the children was upset with the others, he would say they were "stealing his joy". I would smile and inwardly chuckle as it was a sweet way to express their annoyance with each other. But, as I have thought about it over the years I have wondered how often it is that our joy is actually "stolen". I don't mean our "happiness", but instead, joy - joy in the Lord. You see, true joy is a gift from God and can only fade when we take our eyes off of Him. That kind of joy can't be taken from us unless we allow it to be. Happiness is dependent upon our circumstances, but joy happens in spite of them.

Sharing His Beauty Blog Link Up

This week, God's beauty was found as we moved!  As of Saturday we are happily tucked into our new home in the North Bay.  It feels wonderful to be back in the community we love, connected with our church family, and seeing our friends once again.  God is so good!  Now, let's hope that I can see His beauty this coming week as I unpack!  LOL

My Own Eyes

"I had only heard about you before,
but now I have seen you with my own eyes"
(Job 42:5).

Thank you, Father, for your hand on my life.  When I was younger, I didn't truly understand who you were.  But as you have brought me through different seasons in my life, my eyes have been opened to your presence.  I praise you for your strength and power, wisdom and love!  You are so worthy and I yield myself to you!

In your powerful name,

This week, I saw beauty while spending a couple of days away with my husband and son in Lake Tahoe.  We enjoyed wonderful conversation, good meals and many hours of watching the beautiful scenery all around us.  Our son is a photographer and we got to follow him around on several photo shoots.  My favorite of the week was on Friday morning.  We woke up at 4:30 in the morning (I know...yikes!) and headed a few miles away, to Emerald Bay (yes, I had a Starbucks in hand!)  As he photographed the sun rise, it was stunning to see the gold and red rays that began on the horizon, stretched across the sky and were reflected on the perfectly still water of the bay.  Each minute the scene was different and truly showcased the incredible artistry of our Creator.  We were truly blessed to be witness to God's beauty in that incredible place!
