Sharing His Beauty Blog Link Up

For me this week started out as a stressful one!  However, as always, God was faithful!  My mom, who is living in a memory care community two hours away from me, broke two of her front teeth.  It was "after hours" and I didn't know what to do about a dentist!  I knew it wouldn't be feasible to for her to leave and go to a dentist so I started to panic. Then...I prayed.  (Hmmm.  I should have done that before I panicked! LOL) But, God is amazing and as I opened up my computer and searched through our friend "Google" I found a newspaper article about a mobile dentist in her area!  In the article, there was a picture of him treating a patient whom I knew at the independent living facility where my mom used to live prior to her becoming ill!  The article went on to talk about his credentials and the places he services and that he specializes in elderly dementia patients who are home bound!!  I firmly believe that God brought me to that article as I felt relief flood me the moment I found it.

I called up the dentist, left a message and prayed.  Well, even though it was Saturday night, I got a call back!  To make a long story short, the dentist was able to see her on Monday, take x-rays, put on temporary crowns and send impressions to the lab for permanent ones.  He was awesome and my mom did great during the appointment...she even fell asleep in the chair!  God certainly provided!  So this week, He showed His beauty through the caring hands of a talented dentist!

Sharing His Beauty Blog Link Up - A Painful Week

It has been a painful and turbulent week here in our country.  I don't even have the words to express my feelings of disgust and sorrow over the hate that was demonstrated and the senseless loss that was experienced by our brothers and sisters in Christ as well as our country as a whole.  My heart goes out to all the families closest to those whose lives were cut short by the hateful act of violence by a twisted and evil individual.  I am at a loss.  But still, I can look to God and remember that in all things, He is faithful.  Even this week, He has shown His beauty through the responses of the families  involved in Charleston, to the ways people have been reaching out and crossing bridges between races.  I have been encouraged and amazed by the dialogues that I have been a part of since the horrible act of violence erupted earlier this week.  I am saddened, but I am also encouraged.  I am encouraged by the body of Christ standing together in solidarity proclaiming that we are ALL created in God's likeness and we are ALL loved by Him.  To act in any other way is a sin. So, as we move forward in the weeks to come, let's remember to look to Him, and hand in hand, let us bridge the gap and and seek to mend fences and heal as a nation and a people.  We are God's people.  Let us believe it and respond as such.

It has been a beautiful week out here in the west!  We were treated to some rare rain on Thursday!  I loved waking up to the sound on the roof and the smell of the freshly dampened earth.  It won't do much to ease the drought we are experiencing in California, however, the wild flowers sure loved it (as did I)!  I was also treated to several glimpses of the wildlife around our home.  The mother fox has made her rounds several times and the deer have just had their fawns! I love watching them graze in our backyard.  Fortunately, I'm finally learning what flowers they like and what ones they do not like, so my garden is actually flourishing! I love how God's beauty shines so brightly in nature!

Sharing His Beauty Blog Link Up

Oh my!  What a beautiful week I've had!  My husband had the week off, so we had what I like to call, a "stay-cation"!  We went hiking in the beautiful state park behind our home, spent a lovely afternoon with great friends, and enjoyed "working" in the yard at our home.  Our side yard...well, actually only a small space at the side of our house, was quite ugly, and so this week, we did a little renovating! We removed all the things that should have been put in the trash long ago and replaced them with used pavers, two new planters and a veggie garden!  Oh, and today, my husband built me a potting bench to make the space complete!  I'm so excited about this area now as it is useable space rather than a wasted corner of the yard! Isn't it amazing how God can make seemingly mundane work beautiful?
